editing still images

This is three versions of the same photo that I took. Editing I am a big part of film and media. Even just the slightest bit of it can change the meaning and look of something straight away.

Editing still images is very different to editing a moving image. This blog entry made me think much more carefully about when we are filming and the power that has on the quality of the image or film. This has now made me realise i have the ability to manipulate an image to make it look very different, I don't have to film at night to make it look like night.

So, the first photo that I added is the original. The second photo is the edited version to make things seem more scary and horror like. I made the colours darker, the image more grainy and much more thunder like, plunged the whole image into darkness. As well as various other things like creating big contrast between the brick and the dark shadows. Then the third photo uploaded is an edited version where I edited the image to make things look more jolly, I highlighted the obvious colours, took the grain away and made the sky much.

I used my phone to take the photos and an app called facetune to edit them. although this made editing quick and simple, i believe for my final production I would need more advanced editing software. I'm going to attempt I movie for my preliminary task but i'm going to develop my skills in editing by using premier pro.
